Juice Plus+ & Children's Health

It's amazing what happens when you start down the road of better nutrition.

That's what the Juice PLUS+® Children's Health Study has shown us.

Juice Plus+ & Children's Health

Children who prevously took no interest in healthy food start consuming more fruits and vegetables, eating less fast food, drinking fewer fizzy drinks, and drinking more water after taking Juice PLUS+® for just a few months. Children within the Juice PLUS+® Children’s Health Study also have a greater awareness of their own health and wellness — and that allows them to make better choices in all areas of their lives.

The importance of this blossoming health awareness can't be overemphasized, because our healthy children are more likely to grow into healthy adults. Modern day lifestyles have brought new challenges:

Weight problems

  • The number of overweight children in the western world continues to grow. The number of obese children has tripled over the last 20 years: 32.6% of the English 10-11 year olds are now overweight or obese.
Health Survey for England /National Child Measurement Programme
  • Over 60% of children who are overweight before puberty will be overweight in early adulthood.                                                                                                               World Health Organization

Fruits and vegetables

  • Fruit and vegetables are important for good health but many children don’t eat enough of them. Especially now that the recommended number of servings is for at least 5 a day. In the UK, only 1 in 5 children consumes five or more portions of fruit and vegetables a day. The average fruit and vegetables intake for children aged 5 -15 is 2.5 portions a day, far below the recommendation.

Physical activity

  • Children do far too little physical activity. In the UK, less than 1/3 of the children aged 2 to 15 meet the recommended level of physical activity of 60 minutes or more a day.
    National Health Service
  • The average English child watches around 17 hours of television every week. Up to 60% of English children are sedentary for four or more hours during the day.

The future

  • Health challenges normally only seen in adults are now being experienced by adolescents and even young children.
